Lee Pace a.k.a. Lee Grinner Pace is an American actor. He took birth in Chickasha, Oklahoma. His father ran an oil business in Saudi Arabia so he spent his childhood years there. Later, their family moved to Houston, Texas. Pace decided to quit his high school temporarily so that he could join Houston’s Alley Theatre. While at Alley, he played important parts in the productions of ‘The Spider’s Web’ and ‘The Geeks’. Lee Pace joined Klein High School. In 1997, the Julliard School’s drama division accepted him under Group 30. It gave him a chance to act in several plays such as Romeo and Juliet as Romeo; Richard II as the leading character; and Julius Caesar as Cassius.
After receiving BFA, Lee Pace made appearances in innumerous off-Broadway plays such as The Credaux Canvas and The Fourth Sister etc. He was next seen in the production of Craig Lucas’ ‘Small Tragedy’. His brilliant performance led him to receive a nomination for a Lucille Lortel Award as an Outstanding Actor. In 2006, Lee Pace made appearance on a play ‘Guardians’, a two character play and was once again nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award as an Outstanding Actor.
In 2003, Lee Pace portrayed the central character of Calpernia Addams, a transgender woman dating Army soldier, Barry Winchell in the movie Soldier’s Girl. For his work in this movie, Pace earned a Gotham Award for a Breakthrough Actor. In addition, he also received several other nominations such as a Golden Globe nomination. In 2008, Lee Pace starred in the movie ‘Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day’. Lee Pace also has an important role on Tarsem Singh’s ‘The Fall’. On ‘The Possession’, he’s seen along with Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Lee Pace played supporting roles on ‘The White Countess’, ‘Infamous’, and ‘The Good Shepherd’ etc. On the short lived 2004 television series ‘Wonderfalls’, Pace portrayed the character of Aaron Tyler. He got the part of Ned, the central character, in the drama series ‘Pushing Daisies’. He also made an appearance on ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’.
Role on ‘Pushing Daisies’
On ‘Pushing Daisies’, Lee Pace portrays Ned the pie maker. He’s the central character of the show and has an ability to bring the dead ones back to life. He owns a restaurant The Pie Hole and works as a piemaker there. His amateur job is to help Emerson Cod, an investigator. Pace brings the dead people back to life for a short time and it makes Emerson to find out the reason of their death. Making the situation complex are two limits on his ability. Touching the same person, who is brought back to life, would kill him/her forever. And, if the person would remain alive for more than sixty seconds, some else would die in its place. He has a romantic relationship with Chuck. His role on ‘Pushing Daisies’ is among the best ones throughout his career.
