Anna Friel a.k.a. Anna Louise Friel is an English actress. She took birth in Rochdale Lancashire. She has a brother named Michael. Anna joined Crompton House Church of England High School and then joined The Oldham College in Oldham. Anna Friel developed an interest in acting in her childhood and started participating at local talent shows.

When she was 13, Anna got her first acting job on Channel 4 Drama serial ‘G.B.H.’. She was seen portraying the daughter of Michael Palin. Her awesome performance helped her to win roles on various British drama series, most notably ‘Emmerdale’. In 1992, she got a role on soap opera ‘Brookside’ as Beth Jordache. In 1995, she won National Television Award for Most Popular Actress for her excellent performance on Brookside.

In 1996, she was seen in the TV movie ‘The Tribe’. In 1998, she made appearance on the Original Broadway run of Closer at the Music Box Theatre in Manhattan, USA. For her role as Alice, Anna won a Drama Desk Award and a Theatre World Award. It was 2001 when Anna made her West End stage debut in the fringe production of Lulu. Among her other acting credits are ‘Rogue Trader’, ‘The Land Girls’, ‘All for Love’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, ‘Timeline’, ‘Me Without You’, ‘Goal!’ and ‘Goal! 2: Living the Dream’.

Anna Friel also made appearance on the short lived ‘The Jury’ and she was next seen on ‘Watermelon’. She joined Pushing Daisies in 2007 portraying the character of Charlotte ‘Chuck’ Charles. For her contributions to the performing arts, Anna Friel was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Bolton. She has also appeared in several TV advertisements and print ads etc.

Anna developed a relationship with actor David Thewlis. They met on a flight to Cannas and she has a daughter with him. Distressed Ned brought her back to life and making the situation worse is the fact that Ned can’t touch her again. Doing so would lead to her death. She can speak several languages such as French, German, Swedish and Chinese etc. She’s among the main character of the series and is well known for her role of Chuck.
