I became her fan watching “Pushing Daisies”. I was regular viewer of ‘Pushing Daisies” and never missed any episode. I started loving it more with the entry of ‘Olive’, played by Kristin Chenoweth.

I have watched the show since the airing of its first episode and the power of the boy, Ned, fascinated me from the very first time. I have never found such a unique story of bringing the dead man to life. Ned comes to know about his strange power by giving life to his dog by touching him. The u-turn came when he came to knew that his second touch makes another dead forever. He also learned another caveat that if he kept a thing alive for more than one minute, something else has to die. In this case, it was the man next door; he was the father of a young girl named Chuck, with whom Ned was hopelessly in love. It was the secret that haunted him endlessly. 19 years later, young Ned became a pie maker and his secret power was left secret no more, when crime investigator, Emerson Cod saw him using the power. He was so touched by Ned’s touch that he threw him a partnership offer of bringing back the victims in life for less than a minute, knowing the story about their murder and solving the case quickly to get the reward money. Making a living by raising dead proved quite successful.

Well, we all know her better as Olive Snook of Pushing Daisies. Her character was working as a waitress at Ned’s Pie Hole Restaurant and was his next door neighbor also. She loved Ned but never talked about her feelings to him. She knew the two very important secrets of Chuck- the reality of her existence and the reality of her mother. When it became hard for her to go along with those secrets, she made her mind to quit the job and go away. She did so but we soon saw her coming back to Pie Hole. Because of her being very short, Emerson used to call her ‘Itty-bitty’. In the series finale of Pushing Daisies, we saw her opening her new restaurant to produce Macaroni and Cheese. She was, no doubt, one of the touchy as well as lovable characters of the series. It gives a nice feeling to know that some one has got what she actually deserved. Yeah, Pushing Daisies is gone!

The second season of the series came to an end on June 13, 2009 with the season finale entitled “Kerplunk”. As per the Nielsen ratings, the season ender received 2.23 million viewers. Though the last episode of the season failed to attract a big no. of audience, the initial episodes did a brilliant job in terms of ratings. The season opener “Bzzzzzzzzz!” attracted 6.32 million viewers. The ratings remained good till the episode “The Norwegians” which drew in 4.82 million viewers. The next three episodes namely Window Dressed to Kill, Water and Power and Kerplunk failed to get a good response from viewers and get 2.35, 2.29 and 2.23 millions respectively. Ultimately, Pushing Daisies lost its existence and went in the box of the canceled TV shows. Although fans were not ready to give up their favorite TV shows, they had to bow down in front of the show creators and accept their not-good decision.

The series went off air on June 13, 2009 and the DVD of the second season would come into stores approximately after one month to it. Warner Brothers Home Entertainment is planning to release the DVD of the second season on July 21, 2009. Honestly confessing, I hate this part of every year, (especially June). Reason behind this is that most of the TV shows end their seasons during this month. Recent examples are- Pushing Daisies, Criminal Minds; Gossip Girl … the list is really long.  Yeah, you’ve got me right; our very darling as well as adorable ABC Network series Pushing Daisies has finished airing its second season. The worst part of the deal is that it will never be back, which essentially means that Pushing Daisies has been canceled.

I know that you are feeling bad about the cancellation of Pushing Daisies, so let us just take a look at the events that made up the final episode. The main highlight of this episode was one of the two Aquadolls, who had been the greatest opponents of the Darling Mermaid Darlings throughout the series, were killed. This forced the Darling Mermaid Darlings to give up their retired life, so that they could find the killers. With the Darlings back in business, Ned joined them as a manger and Olive became their stylist. Chuck was undoubtedly not able to become a part of the gang. Olive became intimate with Sid and shared her secrets with him.

What do you think of it? Was it a satisfying season ender? Was it what we always expected from Pushing Daisies? The answer is ‘no, not at all’. Many of us would in fact say that it was just like any other episode of the series.  But what to do, the decision has been taken and we can now just follow it, whether we like it or not.

However, there is a little soothing news for the fans of Pushing Daisies. A comic book series has been planned to tell the rest of the story. According to Bryan Fuller, the show’s creator, a twelve book series is coming up and he also has hopes to continue it after the first release.

Well, a big probability is here that our very favorite tv show Pushing Daisies would continue its plot as a comic. If it happens, then, it’d be the repetition of the history of Angel which continued its TV plots in the comic form.

In his interview, given to Sci Fi Wire, series creator Bryan Fuller made it clear that very soon he would be talking to Marvel regarding the deal. When he was asked, what made Pushing Daisies to go off air just after the second season only, Bryan replied that Writers’ Guild of America’s strike hit the show very hard, so hard that it could never return with the third season. Other responsible factors were- the timeslot and its being off air for approximately 10 months. Bryan Fuller also said that 9 p.m. slot on Friday nights, had been booked to air the comic episodes. Hence, it’s good news for the fans of Pushing Daisies that their darling TV show would return.

And there is some more news to cheer up all of you! The wait is over and the remaining episodes, that is the episodes of the second season of Pushing Daisies, left unaired, would be aired soon…. as soon as May 30, 2009!

Yeah, man! Since the airing of ‘The Norwegians’, on December 17, 2008, we’ve been waiting for the remaining episodes of the second season of series.  ABC Network has made the airing dates public. Yeah man, ‘Pushing Daisies’ has been cancelled and it has been confirmed by the series’ executive producer Bryan Fuller. And, the reason behind cancellation is the slump in show ratings. Really, this decision has hurt all those who’re crazy for the show. ‘Pushing Daisies’ is a show which touches me, makes me laugh and tickles my heart, so series’ cancellation is really disheartening. Even though Bryan Fuller has also assured the viewers that he’d not give it up and will surely continue the story in a comic books and he hinted of a big screen movie as well. He added, “We are talking to DC Comics about doing comic books that will wrap up our storylines, and I already have a pitch for a movie ready to go”. But, ‘Pushing Daisies’ is ‘Pushing Daisies’ and we’ll never like to give up such a lovable show.

Last season, it became everyone’s darling show and it helped us to get rid of those grisly crime scenes and brain slicing villains etc. It is a very sweet and cute show which showcases the magical and whimsical side of human nature. Adding more cuteness to the ‘Pushing Daisies’ is the couple, Ned and Chuck, portrayed by Anna Friel and Lee Star respectively. They both are the real examples of warmth, love and empathy. ‘Pushing Daisies’ second season will come to an end after the 13^th episodes which is entitled ‘Kerplunk’. This episode will be a cliffhanger and I really don’t know what they would do to bring the story to an end.

‘Pushing Daisies’ was premiered on October 3, 2007 and it attracted over 13 million viewers and a 4.3/13 rating/share of the desirable 18-49 demographic. Second episode got 10.3 million viewers. However, it faced a decline in the ratings later. As the series returned with second season, ratings shoot up but unfortunately could not continue with the same success and the result is -‘Pushing Daisies’ cancellation.

Well, I know it’s very much troubling to let your favorite show go but it’s gonna happen and we are unable to do anything. What we can do is- just watch the upcoming episodes and enjoy the ‘Pushing Daisies’ as only few episodes are left and then there’ll be no ‘Ned-Chuck’ love…. Unluckily!

Yes dears it is a question that has been haunting my mind for quite some time now. I know all you fans of the comedy show, are also being bothered by the same question. The series Pushing Daisies, which at one time was highly appreciated for standing out as a unique show amongst the similar types of shows on television, is now faced with an uncertain future. Though nothing has been confirmed yet, it is heartbreaking for us fans to imagine our favorite show going off air for good. Some people say that the show has not been doing well for a long time now, with the ratings going down very steeply after the first season. However, I fiercely disagree with them. In my opinion it is a great show and can be made even better with little efforts.

The series wooed the audiences with its original idea of Ned being able to make dead people alive for a minute, The rib tickling comedy, the fantastic performances of the actors as well as the romantic background of the story all worked together to create a magic during the two seasons of the series. The series has made us cry both with laughter as well as emotion. I wish that ABC Network, which is currently airing the series, would rethink about canceling the show. Let us all pray that the news turns out to be rumors turn out to be all false and we get to see many more episodes of Pushing Daisies.

What can be the definition of love?

Pushing Daisies defines it. Ned and Chuck- they’re the ones who love each other but who can’t touch each other. Can you ever imagine living, without touching the one, whom you love from the core of your heart? Well, I think I can’t. It’s the touch only which helps you to describe how much you care about the person in front.

So, I must appreciate Lee and Anna- how brilliantly they both perform their respective characters. Lee Pace represents Ned, a pie maker with an ability to bring the dead back to life with the power of his touch. Anna Friel portrays Chuck, Ned’s beloved. She has been dead but is resurrected by Ned through his touch. Here’s the actual twist…. Ned loves her and she loves him but they can’t touch each other. If Ned will ever touch her, she’ll die once again, permanently. What an imaginative concept …….. the only one of its type!

‘Pushing Daisies’ features elaborate scenes which help to make it much like a feature film and it has also won several Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Really, Ned-Chuck couple is my favorite couple and yesterday I came across their interview given to some private channel. So, I just thought to share it with you guys. Here’re some extracts of the interview.

When they’re asked about how do they express love to each other, bearing in mind that you can’t touch? Anna replied, “It’s all about the eyes. I look into those lovely dreamy eyes (of Lee’s) and it’s not that hard”. Lee’s response was, “It gives us something to play with”.

The next question was very stimulating. They’re asked, In real Life, how much of a touch person you’re? Anna said, “I’m really tactile” whereas Lee uttered, “I sometime have a hard time getting close to people”. Many more questions were asked and were replied and if I’ll start writing all, it will become ‘excessively large post’… so, would have to skip that.

Okay buddies… I think, we can learn ‘pure love’ from ‘Pushing Daisies’…. That’s what every teenager needs.

Hey a buddy, everybody here on this site is the great fan of ‘Pushing Daisies‘. So I have a great news for all those fans like me. I was going through the Emmy’s nominations on tv.com and there I found one familiar name twinkling in the row. That was Pushing Daisies. I became curious so I scanned the list from top to bottom and it was the category of the lead comedy actor and our dear pie maker Ned was shining there. I was surprised to see his name. Because I have a doubt that Pushing Daisies is not as strong comedy as its other competitors like ‘The Office’ and “Two and a half Men’. But yeah, Lee Pace’s work as Ned is really recommendable.

I am happy that at last the Emmy guys nodded his work by giving him place in the nominations at least. Well Lee has never ever got nominated for the Emmy award for his any other role in other series though he had won a Gotham Award and got nominated twice for the Golden globe Award. So he should pay his thanks to Pushing Daisies which gave his career a pleasant twist. He always generates fun on the show. I still start laughing whenever those scenes come to my mind where he makes his childhood love alive with his touch and now is unable to retouch her as she will die. I was wondering what if this situation comes in somebody’s life in the real world. Oh never mind Ned you will definitely win an Emmy, or you can offer bribe to the jury that if they will give you Emmy then you will give them life whenever any of the jury will die lolz.

I am the great fan of the show and I am missing it on my television set. So am satisfying my thirst for the show by downloading its previous episodes from this site. Whoever loves Ned, please keep your fingers crossed on the Award function day. I wish the luck to Lee that he gets an Emmy this year.

I am very desperate for Pushing Daisies and it is pretty difficult for my kinda fan to wait this long. So these previews and footages display thing at comic con is definitely a treat for me. I am fanatic towards the right show, as it has bagged twelve Emmy Award nominations this year, including writing direction, lead actor and supporting actress. So you can say twelve members of the cast and crew have definitely a bright career ahead and Pushing Daisies will remain as a golden star in their profiles forever. I am sure the show is excellent to that extent that people will remember it for decades. Actually the theme is able to clasp the interest for longer because of presenting an unbelievable fiction in a comic and convincing style. This is the art of a writer and that’s why Bryan Fuller is deserving nominee for Emmy Award. Anyways now the show is coming back in October on screen so they guys gifted a little chunk for audiences. You know I read on buddy tv that at comic con Pushing Daisies got tremendous response at penal comparatively to the previews of other shows. You know on public demand, Kristin Chenoweth sang the number ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’. That’s a melodious song, have you heard that?

In season two we will find her singing one more soul soothing song ‘Eternal Flame’. In fact Kristin and Ellen Greene have background in musical theatres so Fuller has taken full advantage of them. The music in the coming season of Pushing Daisies is really gonna make your heart beat fast, exactly like ‘Hopelessly devoted to you’ in dummy.

Moreover, the new season will now concentrate more upon Olive and the aunts. Olive will be seen in nunnery. There will be new dead men too waiting for Ned to touch them and bring back to life.

As per the reviews and comments from the show creators, the show seems to become extremely funny in the second season. Good for us who are waiting with patience. I am killing my time in watching season one every weekend.

Guys, this is the right time to pre order DVDs for the season one of Pushing Daisies. What a sigh of relief. Watching it once was never enough for me. I want more and more from the show. I am not very keen to watch TV, dramas and all that. In fact I hate melo -dramas. I like outdoor games or reading books instead. Fiction is the category which I can die for to read

This show is based upon a fiction and takes the individual to the fantasy land. I have had never seen this show too if my friend hadn’t told me about this. I remember she asked me in the lunch break, “Do you watch Pushing daisies” and I replied, “no drama please” and she shot back that I should watch this TV show as this is of my interest and is similar to what I love to read. So I watched it on the same evening and became a regular viewer of the show.

Doesn’t matter how important work I am missing for this show but my thirst for fiction gets satisfied after watching this show. The story plot is amazing, a pie maker touches the dead and that becomes alive and dies again with another touch. Imagine if it were being real, Wow like in the show, the criminals could be tracked with such an ease. Anyways, by not going into description of the show, it’s better to order DVD and enjoy.

The DVD and Blue ray disc are going to release in region 1 on September 16, 2008 and four months earlier on region two on July 23, 2008, not far away.

I am gonna order my copies from Amazon, although I am already enjoying downloading its episodes. But I’ll buy these DVDs to gift to my same friend, who told me about the show, on her birthday.

A bad news for the UK fandoms of Pushing Daisies

ITV has confirmed that second episode of Pushing Daisies Season 1 will not be shown during the current run because of some scheduling conflicts.

The opening episode of the series’ grabbed 5.7 millions on Saturday night and according to officials Episode 2 is the only episode which they could drop without affecting the storyline. The network also confirmed that Episode will definitely be shown either as a part of the repeat run or as a stand alone episode. According to the network, storyline will not be affected by the episode. Fans (like me) may have some questions like why they filmed that episode, and why they decided to skip this particular episode only when the season has a set of nine more episodes. I do think that any episode clearly affects the storyline. Click here to know why this episode will not affect the plot.

Well, thanks to that Supreme Being and writers, as the strike is now over and all the shows are trickling back to air. At the Paley Festival, I can’t explain how magical it was to watch the complete Pushing Daisies crew and cast, it was not a farewell party , it was a greet to great Pushing Daisies fans who’re anticipating season 2. Participating on the panel at the event were: Bryan Fuller (Creator), Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen (Producers), Peter Ocko (writer), and your fav Ned, Chuck, Olive, Aunt Vivian, and Emerson Cod. Well, the writing staff is back to work and we’re hoping for a complete second season this fall.

Bryan Fuller said, “We got to look back over the first season to see what worked and what didn’t work”. The Season One arc was more of a soft romance, and we want to do something harder–a more aggressive style of storytelling–in the second season. I think we learned a lot of lessons.” What to expect in second season? May be, chuck will be find out who’s her real mom and something exciting about Emerson’s missing daughter and many many more surprises.
